Their problem is with the location of GT's kart track, which happens to be used in real-life as the site of the Palio di Siena, a bareback horse race. Polyphony use the flags and colours of the 17 districts which contest the race, but the Palio complains they have not been given the permission to use them.
Kazunori Yamauchi thinks it's all a bit of a fuss about nothing, though. Asked on Twitter whether the flags could be removed, he said: "We can remove them in an instant." But while that puts off the prospect of a Gran Turismo delay, Yamauchi also seemed disappointed at the reality. He feels the flags add to the track.
"Erasing them is somewhat regrettable," Yamauchi added.
Oh Italy. Look what you've done, you've made Kaz upset. Do you realise who this man is?!
