Eff Off Italy, Don't Delay Gran Turismo 5. You Don't Understand!

) has warned Sony that they're not impressed with the use of its Gran Turismo 5 kart track, which is set in the </span>Piazza del Campo.

The historic public space in Tuscany is used to host the Palio di Siena, a horse race which runs twice a year. Apparently, the Gran Turismo video - which we posted last week - features the track and flags. For whatever reason, The Protection Of The Palio aren't impressed. In fact, they're so unimpressed they've sent a request to SCE lobbying for the removal of the offending items.

Apparently, if Sony don't comply, the consortium are prepping legal action and will aim to seize GT5 upon its release — pissing off millions of gamers in the process.

“You can not use images of Contrade, in this case the flags, without authorization. Given the relevance of the game with no history and references to our party, in particular with the use of images of flags of the contrade, we would not authorize use," said Anna Carli, CEO of the consortium.

We're going to guess that this will blow over. It's not like rendering a scenic route in a video game is detrimental to the actual setting, is it?
