Irem's Zettai Zetsumei Toshi, better known here in the West as Disaster Report (or SOS: The Final Escape in Europe) is one of those games that is massively popular in its homeland but has struggled to replicate that success elsewhere.
Thankfully the series looks set to get another chance of breaking into the big time here in the West. It's been announced that the fourth entry is coming to the PS3 and will ship with PS Move support, as well as stereoscopic 3D.
This time around you'll be able to create your own character, and you'll also need to interact with 60 other survivors in order to safely reach the conclusion of the game.
There's been no confirmation of a Western release as yet, but we imagine that anything with Move support is likely to attract publishers. The PS2 versions were picked up by Agetec, and boasted supremely embarrassing cover art, as you might expect.

This could be quite interesting. You can't beat some unintentionally hilarious voiceovers in low budget Jap conversion style can ya?
I have not played any of the Disaster Report titles. The main survival hook is interesting, so alongside Move support, perhaps the Japanese gamer's enthusiasm for this series will translate into larger sales on western shores.
As for the stereoscopic 3D support, it's good to see its inclusion, although I won't be able to afford a TV that runs 3D games for quite a while.
Hmm looks interesting and even if it turns out rubbish the PS3 needs more stuff like this released over here.Variety is the spice of life an all that.
The 3D stuff doesn't really bother me and until they can do glasses free 3DTV's then I won't be buying,by the sounds of it though its not too far off. I still won't be able to afford one though
