Gran Turismo 5's Servers Are Currently Being Overwhelmed.

To cut a long-story emphatically short: Gran Turismo 5's online servers are getting raped. That's probably a good indication of the game's initial sales, but it causes a few issues for those of us wanting to actually, y'know, play it. The problem is of course extended by the very nature of the game — because GT5 is constantly connected to online servers, it's having an impact on the single-player portion of the game too.

Sony's issued a temporary "fix" for the problem — sign-out of the PlayStation Network. We loaded up the game about an hour ago and things seemed a lot better, so perhaps Sony's set-up some more servers since last night.
