More Like "Mass Effect Of Duty", Right? RIGHT!?

That's according to a report on Kotaku citing an unnamed source. Apparently the game will be in-line with the Call Of Duty series — because more online competitive shooters are just what the industry needs.

The game, which we've taken to describing as "Man With A Gun", is said to feature the same kind of multiplayer progression as Activision's esteemed shooter franchise, and will come with a single-player component featuring an alternative character to Commander Shepard — the series' traditional protagonist.

Apparently Bioware Montreal's been actively seeking mulitplayer programmers to "take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe". Makes sense then. We're aware Bioware's crafted an amazing universe in Mass Effect — set to launch on the PlayStation 3 in January — but we're not sure a multiplayer shooter is the right direction to take it.

We'll have to wait for more information.
