We've all been there: you're in a shop and you need the latest information about the games in front of you. Rather than trusting the folk behind the counter, you need a software intervention to help you make an informed decision, and Sony has you covered with the release of the official PlayStation app for iOS and Android devices.
It's available now in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, and won't cost you a single penny/cent and offers the following features:
- Check out your PlayStation Network trophies and keep up to date with your friends’ games and online status.
- Discover all the latest games, news and hardware for your PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2.
- Read all the announcements on the European PlayStation.Blog.
- Share your favourite products or news with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.
If you have an iPhone or Android device, give the app a try and let us know what you think of it.

You know they might be making a playstation news area.
Thats a cool app idea.
Really looking forward to a NA release.
@lipnox The app lets you see which games are Move compatible
And old US gets the shaft????
@james ohh I wasnt aware of that, the playstation blog does a really poor job letting me know.
Makes a change tho swolern lol heck killzone3 is developed in europe yet the US gets it a few days earlier! thats a tough one to comprehend logically lol. No mention of being able to message your friends on the app. Would be a cool feature tho.Still, its free..so ya cant really complain if it costs nothing
