Last we heard Activision were looking to offload the developer to a potential buyer, but it sounds like talks have fallen through. Activision Worlwide Studios' COO Coddy Johnson told Develop that the publisher had explored leads with "pretty much everyone in the industry," but the publisher were left with the decision to close the studio as a "last resort".
Hopefully some of Bizarre's talent ends up at nearby Sony-owned developers, Evolution and Studio Liverpool.
