This Wall Is A Big Deal In The Elder Scrolls V. Apparently.

The memorable stone slab featured in the game's debut teaser trailer holds a number of secrets about the title's lore. There are several events depicted on the wall, all of which surround a dragon named Aludin. The dragon once terrorized the gameworld of Tamriel, and is now out to seal the fate of Skyrim. Opening the gates in The Elder Scrolls IV let Aludin back in.
