We've written plenty about how good Killzone 3 is with PlayStation Move, but secretly we'd all love to know what it'd be like if played on Kinect. Now you need wonder no more, as an enterprising coder has got the sensor to work on PS3, and the first game on display is Guerilla Games' shooter.
Naturally, as the game wasn't built for a hands-free controller it's not made the smoothest of transitions over to Kinect, but if you want to see what the game would be like without anything in your hands then check out Shantanu Goel's video of the game below.

As much as I think the kinect would be a poor controller for an FPS, you can hardly use this as a shining example of why that would be the case.
This is a cool experiment and all, but this particular game was not designed with Kinect in mind at all. By the same token, you can't just take any game or system and use a Move controller with it—it has to be specifically designed to be Move compatible.
reminds me of the Power Glove.
Kinect needs some type of controller input to really open up the technology and break the limitations that it's currently bound by.
Yeah, like a Move or Wii controller. But then we ask ourselves, why have the kinect in the first place?
Not bashing the kinect - the Move is the same way. If you want to play:
Killzone 3 may be awesome and is highly touted on this and other sites but does it really justify a control mechanism that costs $150 for 1 player use? I bought all the gear but I wonder how this bodes for the future of gaming with the Move.
@autogolazzo I blame sony for not updating the camera, there wasnt anything for playstation to do with the camera til move except video chat so why cant we get an HD camera that can better track stuff. I can see the smallest details perfectly on my screen but Playstation cant see them at all making the camera the only fault of move, and the camera the only thing kinect did right but at the same time missing the core component the controller.
Basically I would have been much happier spending an extra $30 on a better camera then on my nav controller or on the sharp shooter. I love the move but I might as well be playing in the dark because it doesnt seem to help the PS eye either way. (to be fair grand turismo 5 PS eye feature worked great for me, and I still cant figure out why it doesnt work in the fight or in eye pet. I wiggled my finger for what felt like a day and that pet didnt do anything, by the time the stupid creature responded to me I was already ejecting the disk.
Watching this video gives me so much frustration, I mean it takes the guy about 10 goes for it to register a command. I know this is only a tech hack but Kinect simply does not work with XMB controls and FPS games. It takes less then one second to press a button then it is to wave your hands around hoping the thing would register. This is why Kinect should be called DisKinect.
The Move works flawlessly with FPS games as proven in Killzone 3. It is the reason why I bought the Move in the first place as it can cater for all sorts on genres and is more suited for gaming.
Kinect is so lame.... sorry.
Now perhaps, if Microsoft were to come up with a Move-style controller that would work with the Kinect..!!!
