It's been a long wait for Zipper Interactive to release a SOCOM game on PlayStation 3 following Slant Six's disappointing SOCOM Confrontation in 2008, but the wait is finally over as SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs (known as SOCOM: Special Forces in Europe) launches on PlayStation 3 today.
We'll bring you a full review of Zipper's latest PS3 shooter, including details of how the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter functions in-game, in the near future. For now, check out the launch trailer below and start cooking up a plan of attack for getting the game from your local store. We recommend "attend store, exchange money for goods", but you may have a more original plan. Let us know.

Is there a demo coming out for it too?
There's not one this week, but they might be one in future. Stay tuned
Yeah, I'm waiting for your review. I played the demo some and thought the Move controls were alright — perhaps not as confident as they are in Killzone 3, but good. But looking at reviews from other sights, many remark that the Move controls are quite poorly implemented.
So, I'm wondering if that's just because it does, admittedly, take some adjustments to become good at the Move after years of being familiar with other controls. Perhaps other reviewers just don't have the degree of comfort with the Move that the crack staff at Movemodo do. So I'm hoping to get the final verdict here.
@din_dijinn from my experience during the beta i thought the move controls were so so as well. Thats not to say they were bad but using the sharpshooter while playing didn't feel immersive at all. I constantly had to distance myself from the action because close quarters combat often got me killed. It was somewhat a challenge in killzone but the problem with socom is that its in third person, so when fighting in close my character often blocked my line of sight since the cursor doesn't stay in the middle. Also, using the sharpshooter felt more like using a shoulder strapped mouse rather then a light gun like it was in killzone. Overall using the sharpshooter with this game feels more like your scrolling over targets or turning your character rather then aiming and I'm pretty sure you get this feeling because its in third person rather then first. but with the controller it did feel real similar to socom 2, and thats a good thing!
Yes your reviews are very good!
