God Of War IV Is Inevitable; Kratos Is Less So.

The magazine has it on good authority that God Of War IV is in development and gunning for a September 2012 release date. That date would probably suggest some kind of E3 reveal too.

Rumours have been bubbling about a new God Of War ever since a CV referenced a "God Of War IV cinematic test". God Of War developers Sony Santa Monica has since been staffing up for an online technician, hinting at some kind of multiplayer component.

As massive fans of the franchise, we can't wait to see which direction Santa Monica take the franchise. Kratos has become an iconic PlayStation character, but fans of the franchise will recognise that his story is over. It's going to be a tough decision for Santa Monica. On one hand, Kratos sells games. On the other, we reckon there'd be a bit of a backlash to another Kratos story.

We're kinda hoping God Of War IV eschews the Kratos story entirely, and opts for Norse mythology instead. That would be so amazing.
