Tretton had previously said that the events in Japan "may be the straw that says maybe we get to just one market by the end of the year," after the company had to close many of its northern manufacturing plants.
But company representative Satoshi Fukuoka said it expects "no impact from the quake on our launch plan." Fukuoka did stress that Sony never confirmed a worldwide launch in the first-place, so while the confirmation of limited impact from the earthquake is positive — we're still no closer to knowing when and (more importantly) where the device is going to launch this year.
