While Japanese games have a history of success in the West, few Western games succeed in the Japanese market. This is something Sony's looking to correct with a new initiative in Japan called the "World Game Project". While details are still scarce about the Akihabara event — set to take place at the end of the month — it certainly sounds like Sony's looking to bring Western PS3 games to the Japanese audience, teasing a showcase for "the world's games".
Presumably Sony will want to showcase popular PlayStation 3 content — such as Uncharted 3, Mortal Kombat and Resistance 3 — to the typically unaware nation. Makes sense, anyway.
