According to an anonymous source confiding in French site GamAlive, PlayStation Vita will be available to buy in Japan from 12th November this year.
We're expecting to hear official confirmation of the system's Japanese release date at next week's Tokyo Games Show, and as Sony has pledged the machine will make it to the Land of the Rising Sun before the year's end a November release seems likely.
As for the rest of the world, the same anonymous tipster claims the Western world will get its chance in March, a situation that would resemble the staggered release schedule for Sony's last hardware launch, the PlayStation 3.
We'll find out more next week, so stay tuned.

possibly a 4-ish month wait for the States. I'm sad.
March... sounds good to me!
probably more around febuary. they have to make the best of the systems launch. At least that will be enough time to pay it off. I have another $90 left to pay on my preorder. and $70 left to pay on games.
Is it likely to be released all over the west simultaneously?
LAWL, I think SOny's afraid that if it waits until next year in Japan, everybody'll already be too obsessed over the 3DS to give a damn about Vita, what with MH3G coming out in Japan before the end of the year....:3
also, lolol at the March launch
