Looks like David Jaffe might be getting his wish after all: reports spewing out of Deadline suggest that Sony’s snapped up Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance co-director, Brian Taylor, for a live-action adaptation of Twisted Metal.
According to the report, Sony Pictures will stump up a seven-digit sum to fund the project, with Spider-Man producer Avi Arad also said to be on board.
While details about the movie itself are slim, it’s thought that both Sweet Tooth and Doll Face will be featured in the flick.
The news comes on the back of the franchise’s big US relaunch yesterday, with Eat Sleep Play’s reboot hitting stores nationwide.
We approve of this report by the way. A pulpy, semi-serious straight-to-DVD movie set in the Twisted Metal universe could be amazing. We're not considering any other possibilities at this moment.

I would watch this movie.
I'm as big a fan of the Twisted Metal franchise as anybody but this to me just seems like a horrible idea... And sadly a horrible idea I'd support because I know I'll check it out regardless of if it releases in the cinema or straight to DVD/Blu-Ray.
Sounds like a good pop corn movie that you can't go in to it expecting to much.
