Looks like EA’s hard work promoting Mass Effect 3 has paid off pretty well for the publisher — reports spilling out of VentureBeat suggest that the RPG threequel sold a whopping 890k units in its first 24 hours on sale. That’s in the United States alone, by the way.
It’s safe to assume that the title’s already surpassed the one million unit milestone by now, with the game dropping across Europe today.
A chuffed John Riccitiello said that the publisher was “happy” with the numbers. We’re assuming he said it with dollar signs glinting in his eyes.
Have any of you lot picked up Mass Effect 3 yet? What are your first impressions?

This series is beyond amazing, and the sales reflect that graciously. I hadn't even heard of Mass Effect until the 2nd one, it's good to hear the word got out about Mass Effect.
Picked up the N7 Collector's Edition for Xbox 360, game is awesome and I'm happy to see it selling well even if that was kind of expected.
"Shepard, what's the Kuwashii Visor say about ME3's sales levels?"
"They're over 900 THOUSAND! ...Nearly!"
crushes visor and stabs a krogan with the shards
It must be 'cause the game came with an inflatable omniblade
Deserves all the sales it gets, no game has ever made me feel the emotion I feel while playing ME3. Phenomenal!
