It seems as though there’s another PlayStation Vita firmware update on the way, if a Twitter exchange between a fan and Q-Games’ Dylan Cuthbert is to be believed.
When asked why PixelJunk Monsters wasn’t currently compatible with Sony’s new handheld, Cuthbert said that support was coming soon:
They are ‘enabling’ it with a firmware update in April. Stay tuned.
It’s unclear what other features the system software update might hold, but the mere prospect of greater PSP compatibility sounds tantalising enough to us.

Would love it if I could play my FFVII, FFIX, and Xenogears PS1 titles! Add the PS1 capability too, and let the downloading begin. Vagrant Story and many more would be a insta-downloads if this happens.
I think the list of things they need to accomplish is pretty short, but it will make a big difference.
1) ps1 and (eventually) ps2 classics support
2) complete psp support
3) free PS+ minis compatibility on the Vita
4) better PS+ integration into the Vita store (give the vita some serious love), as well as gameplay videos and such
5) let people on PS3 see vita players and their trophies ( what a huge mistake pretending that vita trophies don't exist on the ps3)
I've accepted that all past PSN games are unlikely to be added to remote play compatibilty now, but I'm hoping all games in the future take remote play into consideration, or, better yet, the ability to play straight from the vita.
My list of hopes. I'll try to be realistic as well.
1.) Unlocked remote play. Let me play my PS3 games remotely!
2.) Media streaming (ps3/pc)
3.) Real HTML5 support via browser
4.) Stability in low power situations
5.) Stability in audio (rarely, audio cuts out and causes system to lock up)
I just want to be able to navigate the playstation store via an analog stick or d-pad. I would also like to be able to watch gametrailers/web video content (i.e. the Pulse) via streaming rather than having to download. Nintendo has the right idea on that in the e-shop.
@Zergling very true, being able to touch the screen less overall would be welcome. I don't want to touch it.
What I want in the update:
#PSn + minis working
#ps1 classic support
#Better remote play
i would like it if they opened up the store to more app developers. id like to be able to use google nav on the vita, to make use of the 3g. and
