The Ratchet & Clank HD Collection rumours have really started to pick up pace over the last couple of weeks. Despite there being no official announcement from publisher Sony, 9Live.be appears to have gotten hold of an image of the game’s boxart as well as an official release date: 16th May.
According to the website the compilation will host HD versions of the first three Ratchet & Clank titles, with trophies and 3D support added in to make the package feel more modern.
Additionally, the report notes that Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal will have its eight player muiltiplayer component restored – which would be a first for an HD collection.
We’re still not sure there’s much value in a Ratchet & Clank HD Collection – the PS3 titles elevated the formula far beyond the PS2 releases – but we suppose it'll be interesting for newcomers to explore the franchise's origins.

this will be pre-ordered. what's with all the old school ratchet & clank hate?
Nice, I never got a chance to play these through
Also, in regards to the newer being better. Isnt that like asking why people buy games on the Virtual console? Or the Ps1 classics? Sometimes its just nice to be able to play good old games without having multiple consoles installed
Won't be bothering with this one. Loved them originally, and the first PS3 outing, but after that... meh. No real desire to play the PS2 games again either.
This will make a nice birthday present for myself! The original games we're great and I can't wait to be able to jump back into Up Your Arsenal's multiplayer once again! I've waited far too long for this collection to release!
