Update: A post on the Official PlayStation Blog confirms the game. The best part? The cheeky "As most of you were recently made aware, God of War: Ascension will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3" nod to Amazon's leak.
Sony tells us we'll get more information on 30th April at 8am Pacific time.
That mysterious April reveal is almost certainly God of War: Ascension, leaked by Amazon this morning and doing us all a favour.
The retailer posted box art and a teaser trailer for the PS3 game, which should be officially announced later today.
Are you happy to see Kratos return to PS3, or do you wish you could take the world's angriest Spartan on the go with PS Vita?

I bet it was actually Prometheus who leaked this.
Sony had better start getting more top tier titles on the Vita before that thing ends up dead in the water.
As much as I also find strange that Sony decided to leave Vita out of this, I'm sure glad that I will not have to buy a new system to play the next GoW.
I would imagine another studio (Ready at Dawn maybe?) is working on a Vita GoW
Nah, I want this to be a PS3 game. As much as I love the PSP games, God of War is all about spectacle — and I'm certain this game is going to be insane.
God of War III is still the best looking game on PS3 as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait to see this baby in action.
Excited.
As much as I understand the desire, given current Vita sales, only releasing a Vita version would send the publisher broke.
@Ginkgo I think people need to get out of the mentality that every game needs to be on both. I'm staggered by the amount of comments on the PlayStation Blog lamenting this not being a Vita title.
I'm sure there's lots in development for Vita — we just need to be patient for a little while longer. But in the mean time: NEW GOD OF WAR!
Im waiting for the Vita to pick up steam or just have a nice selection of good games before i get mine. The ps3 version will do just fine for now
Well hopefully Sony showcase the big guns at E3 for Vita, because at the minute things are really, really dry.
As for God of War, I'm even less interested than I was before, realising it's actually a prequel. We'll see how it turns out...
Wanted this for Vita....I have faith the Vita will be pushed to the moon @ E3 and my $250+ gamble will pay off.
@get2sammyb - Agreed. That said I'm used to it because the same thing has been happening on Nintendo Life since the 3DS came out.
Just finished GOW 3 finally, right after playing the 2 PSP HD remakes, and have to say those PSP games weren't all that great. The first 1 was hardly even a good game, much less a good GOW game. That said, I'm not impressed by this trailer either way. Is the whole game going to take place weirdly inside his head? Guess I was happy w/ the end of the trilogy and was ready to move on. (Though my wife wants a movie starring Vin Deisel, she's a big fan.) I'm sure I'ld play it, but my anticipation is nil at the moment.
Yep, I wanted this for Vita as well.
@get2sammyb
I wish I could say I agree, I always do agree with your comments - but, I disagree because it's in the tagline, Never Stop Playing, that a decent amount of Vita games should be Remote Play compatible, and what better series than God of War? If it necessarily won't be Vita-compatible, I understand what you're saying.
It's not on Vita? Oh cry me a river. And speaking of rivers, the Vita won't be dead in the water if it doesn't see a AAA title here soon. It's just not going to happen.
As for this, I'm somewhat excited. But then again, I could care less.
