PlayStation Network maintenance periods are always given plenty of publicity around the web, but we rarely find it interrupts our playing schedule. Regardless, it’s out duty as your reliable source of daily PlayStation news to inform you that Sony’s preparing 13 hours of PSN repairs from 2PM BST (9AM EST) today.
During that period you’ll be unable to access the PlayStation Store, Account Management or Account Registration. Online play will supposedly be ropey too, but Sony reckons if you sign in before the maintenance kicks off you should be fine. We usually find we can log in during the maintenance period too – but obviously if you get an error message, you’ll know why.
The official PlayStation Twitter is promising to keep you updated on the maintenance progress throughout the day. May we recommend you dive into a single-player game? Mass Effect 3 or Skyrim should be enough to keep you busy. Or you could, y’know, go outside and do something different.

Many people on PlayStation Blog are very mad at a guy in the PlayStation Service for not giving much details about this.
@LittleBigVita Yeah, they usually announce it a few days earlier. This does seem very last minute.
Yeah, but people on the Playstation Blog are mad about everything. They should really implement a "block user" feature.
