The release date for Reverge Labs’ super promising PlayStation Network brawler Skullgirls is no longer a mystery – well, not if you’re in North America anyway.
The uber-pretty punch ‘em up will launch on Sony’s digital storefront on 10th April for $14.99. Sadly, the game’s European release remains in limbo. As you were, then.

I really don't like how two games' release dates were presented for USA, yet, not for UK. Even though I live in the USA, it's just not fair for a game in the same language to have an unknown release date in a different place
@LittleBigVita: it's not about 'fairness', it's just the way things are. if it hadn't been NA's release date first, it'd'a been EU's, and who knows — for all we know it could get pushed back anyway. :3
It just occured to me to wait for a review before playing this. It looks pretty, but I'm still not sure about whether or not it'll be balanced.
@LittleBigVita It's not just a 'UK' release, it's EU, and everything that goes along with the regionalisation of the game. So NA gets a game in English, whereas EU gets a game in English, French, German, Polish etc.
I remember when a friend of mine had an American Genesis game when we were kids, the manual was so tiny compared to our MegaDrive games!
@Mickeymac You like BlazBlue, right? You'll like this then It's pretty balanced — not 100% fair, but no fighters are — but balanced enough to reward skill over luck. No infinite combos either, which is awesome.
@LittleBigVita I think the problem is that they probably don't know. SCEE's been pretty bad at matching US release dates for PSN content. The problem is that Europe is huge and has multiple different languages and rules — so it's a bigger undertaking.
Because the UK is part of Europe, even though the game is likely to be identical to the US one, it has to be processed by SCEE. So that's the issue.
Having said that — the game might come out this week in Europe anyway. Or it might get delayed worldwide. You just have to wait and see.
The game looks ace though.
I will have to wait on a review for this one, im picky about my fighters.
@get2sammyb It's also about how well the company handles the submission + testing process; if it's only a small team it might not have the manpower to line up all its intercontinental ducks in one go.
Anyway, it'll be worth the wait, EUers
Dumb question, but aren't a lot of those characters also in BattleFantasia? Is it the same series or something? I didn't start following fighting games until SSFIV like a newb.
@James Actually, I hated Blazblue until al the balance issues were ironed out. If it's as "balanced" as Blazblue originally was, then I probably won't enjoy this game.
