Up until now, Mass Effect 3 multiplayer events have been exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the intergalactic RPG. But following some public finger-pointing from developer BioWare, Sony has said it is working hard to get the promotional weekends approved on PS3 too.
A spokesperson told Shacknews:
We are currently working together with EA and BioWare on an implementation to bring Mass Effect 3 multiplayer weekends to PS3.
It’s unclear how the platform holder will make-up for the lost promotions, but hopefully more information will be revealed soon.

Hopefully we get some form of consolation for having to wait while the two companies bicker over the situation. Sometimes I wish we could just get some clear cut answers, especially from Sony.
@ShogunRok I really can't imagine what the issue is here. Sony is notorious for allowing developers to open up the PSN as they need so I can't imagine they are directly blocking EA from running these promotions.
I'm sure it'll get resolved.

Yeah that's what's confusing me. We're used to seeing things like this with Microsoft, but Sony has always been more open to developers, and surely this isn't a big deal? I mean Sony let Valve integrate Steam onto the PS3 - why would they stop Bioware/ EA from holding weekly promotions? Not to mention EA and Sony have had quite a cozy relationship over the last few years
