Call of Duty: Black Ops II wants to surprise you.
For one, the campaign will offer branching paths and alternate endings, with the storyline changing depending on decisions you make. Should you fail select missions the story will still continue, with characters living or dying depending on your actions. While we're not expecting Quantic Dream levels of immersion, it should help keep the single-player mode from being an identikit run-and-gun affair.

This actually does sound pretty cool. At least they're trying something different.
It'll have to go some distance before it comes up with a Resistance 3 quality single player game, but fair play for trying. I like the idea of a branching story, but I'm not sure I'd play through an FPS single player game twice.
Maybe not the most original idea but gotta give Treyarch credit for trying something different. I'm now very interested in this game.
I'm glad to hear this.
It honestly looks a lot more interesting than I expected. I usually don't pay much attention to the Call of Duty series, mostly because I am not very good at FPS but this one looks like it has lots of potential. Good to see that they are doing something different.
