You didn’t think the PlayStation Vita release schedule was going to remain a barren wasteland forever did you? Good, because it looks like Burnout developer Criterion is readying a new title for the handheld.
A new job listing posted by the British studio is in search of a software developer responsible for “optimising and tuning the game resource system for the PS Vita” and “interfacing the game engine with several parts of the Vita OS”. Other tasks include the management of Trophies and LiveArea.
The listing also references the implementation of “interoperation between the PS3 and Vita”.
We probably won’t find out what Criterion is working on until next month’s E3, but the likeliest candidate is a new Need for Speed game. And if that’s the case, it's safe to get excited.

i love need for speed
Burnout would be awesome.
Hot Pursuit 2!! Please Rao make it Hot Pursuit 2!!
Though thinking about it, a take on Burnout Paradise would probably make more sense in the out & about world of portable gaming. They could actually make good use of Near if the said intergration involves the Autolog feature- few leaderboard systems have kept me going back to burn my friends more than Autolog!
Just had a horrible thought; what if it's just a port of Burnout Crash . . . ? sadface
lol maybe its not 1 game but 2?
Burnout Legends was one of my first and favorite PSP games and I'd love to see the series on PS Vita. That said, I'm also a big fan of Need for Speed and really enjoyed Hot Pursuit so if they wanted to make an HP 2 I'd be fine with that as well.
