Slant Six’s rotten squad-based zombie spin-off Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has sold over 2 million units worldwide.
According to publisher Capcom’s annual financial report, the shoddy shooter had sold 1.7 million copies as of 31st March 2012. Factor in the title’s surprisingly strong Japanese debut of 290,000 units, in addition to another five weeks of trading in the US and Europe, and the game should have already exceeded the impressive 2 million units mark.
In fact, despite the poor critical reception, the title is currently Capcom’s best seller. Street Fighter X Tekken performed decently but below expectations, selling a sturdy 1.4 million units since its release in early March.
As a result, Capcom’s overall net sales were down by 16 per cent year-over-year — a figure exaggerated by the delay of upcoming action RPG Dragon's Dogma. But with Resident Evil 6's release rapidly approaching in October, we're not convinced the sales blip is going to persist for long.

This is so freakin' depressing...
@Mickeymac The Resident Evil brand is incredibly strong. RE6 is going to be a gargantuan hit.
