Over the last year or so, PlayStation Plus has really blossomed into a must-own package. But Sony, it seems, is not resting on its laurels just yet. A survey picked up by IGN shows that the platform holder is evaluating the value of its premium package.
The 15-minute questionnaire quizzes readers on different elements of the subscription service, each offering different perks and bonuses. Regularity of updates and the quality of the giveaways are all elements examined, with options including free Call of Duty: Elite memberships and full Blu-ray games.
In response to the survey, Sony said that it has “nothing specific to announce at this time” but that PlayStation Plus continues to “delight gamers with free games, huge discounts and exclusive gaming features that can’t be found on other platforms”.
Personally, we kind of like PlayStation Plus as it is. If Sony is able to continue delivering the same quality giveaways it has been over the past 12 months, then we’re not convinced the service needs an overhaul at all. What do you think?

I love it the way it is... well, expect that it needs better Vita discounts!
@Slapshot The European guys keep pointing out that Plus is a "PS3 service only at the moment". I agree, it would be nice if it included Vita discounts, etc.
The only reason that keeps me from having Playstation Plus is the fact that you can't keep the games once you stop paying for the service. There will come a time when the PS3 itself will be history and I sure will want to keep the games that I have at the moment. And what if I have to cancel my Playstation Plus subscription and then lose, say, Flower for instance?
@fchinaski It's really don't think it's a big deal to be honest. Just think of it like renting. You pay your subscription fee, download your free games, play them and enjoy them. By the time your subscription expires, you'll probably be ready to move onto something else anyway.
And if you really want to play a particular game again, you could always just buy it or renew your subscription.
@get2sammyb I guess you're right, Sammy. Maybe it's just the collector in me speaking. I'm still not even one hundred percent confortable with all this digital download thing, even though I know that's where the future is.
As long as they're simply considering giving me more things then of course I'm ok with it. But if they're considering giving me less games in exchange for a call of duty membership, using the example, then that would be lame. I'd like to take the survey and just let them know all I want is for them to extend the service to the Vita.
I don't think it's been good over the past 12 months, but certainly the past 4 or 5. Which does coincide w/ them stopping giving away the same set of Sega games over and over and over again. In fact I don't think they've had any duplicates for a few months now so a lot of that complaining has stopped. So yes it is definitely improving and money well spent. This week/month alone I got Trine 2, Awesomenauts, Cloud Pilgrim God, Velocity and 2 Castlevania games. They really don't need to improve that at all for me to be happy.
