Despite calls to the contrary from eager gamers, Sony has ruled out a PlayStation Vita price-drop. Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida told Eurogamer.net that the platform holder is happy with the Vita’s current price – despite its well publicised struggles at retail.
He said:
From the value for money standpoint, we think we have a good price for what the system is. And our priority is to achieve the potential through more games and services.
Of course people who are looking to buy are also talking about the price of PS Vita, especially when they have to buy a memory card as well. That's something we have to spend time to cost reduce and address in the future. But now, our laser focus is to increase the content and to realise the potential of the system.
Earlier today, Yoshida admitted that Sony had underrepresented the Vita during its E3 press conference.
As of March, the Vita had sold just 1.8 million units. The company expects to increase that tally by about 10 million units over the next 12 months.

no new AAA games and no price cut...10m by 1 year means unsell vitas in their warehouse also? with every new system sony come out they sell less and less...i think they really dun have the brains to lead the market anymore...
I wasn't, honestly. The bundle's enough for me so long as it doesn't cost much more than the current standalone model.
Don't expect the sales to pick up either.
Doesn't Sony always make a big deal about not cutting prices, usually along the lines of "We have nothing to announce at this time', a few days before they make a price cut? I mean really, when was the last price cut for the PS2 or PS3 that they said a month in advance that they were going to make a price cut?
I'm not saying the price cut is imminent, but believing a word Sony says about anything seems kind of pointless.
How about price parity, so the the rest of the world pays the same price as the US.
And how about giving a memory card with each console already packaged. I think people will be more up to buying a Vita if they didn't need to spend more money on a memory card with their initial purchase.
