LucasArts has raised the curtain on Star Wars 1313, a third-person shooter set within a “dark and mature world”. It’s the super secret title that the publisher teased last month.
The game is set to unravel a “criminal conspiracy” in the “most dangerous place in the Star Wars galaxy”. If you’re curious, the title refers to Level 1313, the criminal underground realm of Coruscant. Are you keeping up?
You’ll play as an unnamed bounty hunter who, crucially, relies on “human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers”. LucasArts is keen to point out that the game will feature mature themes, and will show off "a part of the Star Wars mythos that we've always known existed, but never had a chance to visit”.
Additional details are light at the moment, but more is expected to be announced during E3.

Yawn.
Wake up Lucasarts! Star Wars Move title, New X-Wing, Battlefront 3. In that order.
I am SO with you on Battlefront 3.
I'm interested in this, because as a lifelong Star Wars fan I'm contractually obligated to be. I'm not thrilled, though. I don't really need to see "dark and mature" themes in Star Wars. I just want someone to bring back the campy adventure feel from the Original Trilogy, something that no one's really been able to capture in years. It's part of why I didn't completely lose myself to The Old Republic. With the way they keep making Star Wars try to look "new" it loses the aesthetic that made the first three movies so fun.
The fact that you play as a bounty hunter has me intrigued, though. I like Jedi as much as the next guy but I'm kinda getting sick of playing as them in every game. I'm definitely looking forward to using a blaster instead of a lightsaber for once.
@SpaceKappa
I appreciate the blaster/lightsaber point, but it just reeks of been there, done that for me.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter was a fun game, (and basically, the same premise). But this really just seems like The Force (not) Unleashed to me. There are bigger and better game opportunities for the license.
@KALofKRYPTON I absolutely agree. I think they can make a decent game out of this, it just won't be groundbreaking or terribly interesting.
I wonder where the Star Wars franchise can even GO in video games these days. It's already done just about everything, and after the incredible Knights of the Old Republic they can't even go back to an RPG because there's no way they can top it. Action games are kinda all that can be done now, I just hope they can make them interesting at least.
I should've known it would be something like this when they mentioned it would premier on Spike...
They should have just made a SW Bounty Hunter 2 then :c
Forget the so-called "dark and mature" crap and do another Rouge Squadron game.
For some reason this game looks interesting to me. The hero looks Luke-ish and makes me a bit nostalgic. Trouble is...will the actual game be compelling...
And will it answer the question, "If Jar-Jar had fallen into the Sarlac, would people have tried as hard to write him out of it?"
