Contemplative

Hideo Kojima sure loves to talk. The legendary developer may have been the creative force behind some of PlayStation’s greatest games, but lately he can’t seem to settle on a single idea. Not content with announcing a new Zone of the Enders just a couple of weeks ago, the developer’s now turned his attention to a new title focusing on human issues.

He said in an interview with CVG:

There are a lot of real world issues I want to address, but the reason I kept making the Metal Gear Solid saga and its sequels is that it allowed me to explore my ideas.

But now I’m starting a new series, focusing on new set of issues. It’ll probably be different to what MGS addressed. Of course, I’m turning 50 now, so if I’m going to approach new topics, it might be something more on a human level, like the concept of love, or rearing a family, things of that nature.

The game could of course be Kojima’s oft-discussed Project Ogre, but the developer was purposely vague in the interview. Feel free to wake us up when the Metal Gear man actually shows something, rather than teasing projects that don’t actually appear to exist.
