Last week’s exceptional PlayStation Vita performance was a one-off it seems. With the excitement surrounding Persona 4: The Golden now restored to a reasonable level, the handheld plunged to just 13k units. Not horrific, but far from exceptional either.
One hypothesis for the Vita’s relatively sluggish week centres on the imminent release of the crystal white hardware redesign. The refreshed system didn’t hit Japanese shelves in time to factor into these figures, so could make a big impact on next week's chart. Maybe.
Elsewhere, Tokyo Jungle continued to perform well above expectations. The bonkers PS3 exclusive added another 18k units to its total tally, and settled for fifth position on the overall software chart.
The full list of hardware and software sales numbers are included below. And no, the Pokemon figure isn't a typing error. Good grief.

its all over for vita again LOL
@Savino, perhaps most Vita users are not PS3 users, or might be I'm an isolated exception. I have both, 3DS and PSV and for 3DS I play only MK7 and OOT, for my taste its game library is way worse than that of the PSV, and the PSV library is not great at all.
I have a 3DS and a Vita. I play my 3DS about the same as my PS Vita. The only reason is LBP Beta. I think the vita is just like the 3DS. I barely ever played my 3DS when it first came out because it had no games. Now it does and I play it. If I didn't have the LBP Beta I would barely play it. It just needs more time to get more titles. I think Sony should have waited until they had games like LBP and Unit 13 before they released the vita. It really stinks.
@Savino
Though I don't disagree with you overall, I think you're being a bit harsh on the vita. Have you played Mutant Blobs Attack? It's a perfect game for a handheld. Also the lack of multiplayer on rayman Origins didn't bother me at all. After all, I've playing handheld games since the gbc came out and multiplayer was never (until recently) their selling point. I had tons of fun with Pokemon yellow even without multiplayer. Same with Rayman.
Not really that surprising, Sony needs to find a way to release JRPGs on a consistent basis, that's what led to PSP's success over in Japan. Throw in some big name franchises like RE, Street Fighter and MGS here and there and it'll turn, this clearly is going to be an uphill battle for them though, sales have to pick up to gain developer confidence but consumers won't come if there aren't games they care for. Easiest solution is a price drop but Sony isn't in a position to do that right now.
People are STILL buying PS2!
