New Sony president Kaz Hirai is a busy man. The former Sony Computer Entertainment gaffer has been handed the daunting task of turning the troubled Japanese manufacturer’s fortunes around. As such, the likable executive has decided to step away from his role as chairman on the SCE board. He will still serve in a part time capacity.
Meanwhile, SCEJ president Hiroshi Kawano has been appointed a position on the board to make up for Hirai's absence. It's like musical chairs at Sony HQ these days.

I'm a bit confused. Are president and chairman two different roles or...?
Now he's cut those ties he's in an even better position to axe the hardware division. I hear Wii U and iOS will become "Playstation Certified Devices" pretty soon! ; )
