Earlier this week, new Sony president Kaz Hirai formally announced his departure from the SCE board. In order to celebrate his services to the division, the company held a leaving party for the busy executive in Japan earlier this afternoon.
At the event, Hirai was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a custom PlayStation 3 console. The limited edition system – which is not for sale by the way – features a custom silver and wine red finish.
Hirai now finds himself with the responsibility of resurrecting Sony's deflating bank balance. Still, at least he'll always have something to stick on eBay if the going gets really tough.

That would explain why he left.
What the heck did they do to it?
What is that on the back - is it just the paint job? Looks like a red, rectangular section has been added.
It's probably a massive harddrive filled with every PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, and PSV game.
It doesn't look that great, really. If it was one colour it might look better.
