It seems the rumours were right on the money: Konami has confirmed that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is in development at Spanish studio MercurySteam. Sadly, the publisher had very little to share other than the CG trailer embedded below.
We had previously heard that the game was in development for Vita and PS3, but the trailer only confirms the latter. More details are expected at E3.

So, this takes place after the DLC (which I've yet to play but read about) after he saves the chess playing girl but before the way cool after the credits ending? Not sure how I feel about that, really wanted the end ending follow-up but this looks cool - I like anything with an energy whip.
Just a few more days now, I hope Sony is holding something back.
I hope this is also comming for the Wii U!
so no vita version?
Well, it's official, Castlevania is no longer what it used to be (storywise). Fortunately the gameplay is similar to, if not exactly the same as, Lament of Innocence, which was a great game. But as a devoted Castlevania fan, I must accept this new Castlevania storyline.
Also, I just realized, the guy with the white hair at the end could be Alucard. Or Hector... I hope it's the latter.
