As previously confirmed, PSone Classics are finally coming to the PlayStation Vita – but not without a catch. It seems Sony won’t be able to simply flip the switch on retro support, opting for a phased roll out of content instead.
Thankfully, if you’ve bought any of the supported PSone titles before, you’ll be able to download them on Vita for free. Unfortunately, Sony didn’t provide a list of compatible content, but titles on display during its E3 press conference included Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy VII.

Well... At LEAST they are becoming compatible, and maybe this will stimulate more grade A titles from the PSOne era to make an appearance on Playstation Network. ^^
@Azikira I'm hoping that everything is compatible by the end of the year (and going forward) but, obviously, I'm not holding my breath.
EDIT: Having said that, you only really need Final Fantasy VII anyway. And maybe Tomba!. And... Ah.
I wish they would explain themselves better if there truly is a reason they can't release them all at once — like do they actually have to test every title for stability and bugs again? Because if they don't explain themselves these are the types of things I start thinking about: They already very clearly started rolling out minis compatibility week by week even though they were already ready to go (already working in EU for example, and I had minis downloaded that didn't transfer to vita one week but did the next week without redownloading or getting a patch), so I'm prone not to believe them when they say "this ps1 title has to wait until next week to be ready", and I think they just want to cover up their drought with the gradual roll out.
So uh.. when do they start rolling out?
I just need ff7, ff9, xenogears, and vagrant story.
(to get STARTED)
@TGVirus1337 Summer. That's all we know.
spyro, FF, resident evils, silent hill, and crash. gimme.
Can you get the original Sypro or any of the games in europe as I couldnt find them on the store!
THE PS1 game: Metal Gear Solid
But I'll also take Toy Story Racers
Can't say I'm too fussed about playing PS1 games on my Vita. Perhaps R-Types and Kula World would be good though.
