Remote Play is arguably one of the most underutilised technologies in Sony’s stable. The feature – which theoretically allows you to stream and control PS3 games from your Vita – is still only compatible with a handful of titles, but Sony announced plans to extend that during its E3 press conference last night.
Four new titles will be updated to support the feature, including: God of War, God of War 2, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus.
Sure, they're merely updated PlayStation 2 titles — but they're also some of the best available on the platform. How can you complain about being able to play Shadow of the Colossus on the go?

Will this work on the PSP?
@El_Murcielago I'll got out on a limb and say yes. It's the same functionality for both Vita and PSP, so I don't see why not!
So each individual game needs to be updated. They better start making it as good as required for new games.
My only question for PS2 support is... How will L2, R2, L3 and R3 work? front and rear touch enabled?
@KALofKRYPTON
I dont think that is true but i might be wrong. How will the PSP handle games like god of war? I dont think it have the power to do so... unless im wrong about something
@Kayoss Remote Play is simply a matter of streaming images and audio and transmitting controller input, the PSP doesn't 'run' the game. That's how Lair works.
I'm a bit disappointed with this particular feature. I suppose I wasn't paying attention but I popped KZ3 into my PS3 and was expecting to be able to play it on my Vita. Then I found out it only remote plays the same games as the PSP, and it's just as blurry and just as laggy. It can't even manage a decent game of Zumba.
should make more games available...
Other than a slightly cool tech demo, I've really taken to remote play. It was good for Play TV on my PSP when I shared a house, but I think it's a bit of a stretch of the imagination. too much image qaulity and input lag to make it really work- now I'm thinking about it- perhaps this could be a part of Sony's aquisition of a cloud gaming service? There could be an issue a dedicated game streaming organisation could resolve that Sony couldn't to really make remote play viable?
@KALofKRYPTON I'm pretty sure it's not as simple as we all think (just streaming images) as games need to meet a certain level of cpu/memory usage in order to play in remote play. Sony was releasing a test kit for devs to use within new games which leads me to believe it's more complicated than simply audio/visual streaming.
@nathanuc1988
No really, it's just streaming. Actually using the PSP/Vita to process some of the game content would probably improve the end result massively- but would also require some form of preinstalled content on the handheld- which, actually, isn't a bad idea! Go me!
