It looks like the first major PlayStation Vita title of this year’s E3 has already been leaked. A lucky NeoGAF poster has managed to get hold of an early copy of this month's Game Informer magazine, which includes a preview of Ubisoft’s upcoming Vita exclusive Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.
The game – which is set to release alongside the new PS3 title on 30th October – features a female protagonist named Aveline, who is pictured through here.
While the title will not tie into Desmond’s story, the article promises a “true” Assassin’s Creed experience, with huge gameplay areas to explore. A majority of the title will take place in New Orleans, but the preview also teases an excursion to Mexico. Additionally, the game will boast a multiplayer component "specifically tailored to the Vita experience".
Obviously, this remains a rumour until Ubisoft says otherwise – but the details and images look legit to us. Let us know what you think in the comments.

The lead character looks absolutely fantastic. Well, here's your first major Vita announcement — looks like a pretty stellar start to me.
Just what the Vita needs, but I'm holding back expectations until we see this game in action. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm skeptical that this will be a true AC console game on Vita - but I think that's because we're always promised 'console experiences' on handhelds, and they rarely deliver. Always have some gimmick or some aspect seriously toned down.
I hope Ubisoft prove me wrong though, and this turns out just as good as AC3 will.

Find people with Near and then smack them with the psvita?
@kivi95 Near was the first thing that came to my mind too.
Never been a big AC fan. but this might just be enough to change that.
hopefully plus a gta things will look up for vita
She looks ready to whoop some tail!
@Azikira Seriously. I love the character design.
Hmm... I guess my little leak I found last week was a valid one indeed!
Good for Vita, even if I personally have a distaste for the series.
I'm certainly interested in the title, but I'll also hold my excitement until we see more. I am glad that in this case, they are making a vita specific game instead of a direct port, as I would have bought AC3 on ps3 anyway. Perhaps I'll get 2 great Assassin's Creed experiences. . .or maybe I'll get none
