With E3 now little more than a distant memory, the games media has started to turn its attention towards the top titles on show. It turns out that Sony had a rip-roaring year, netting 12 nominations in total. Its closest competitors were Microsoft, Nintendo and EA, who each tied for eight nods apiece.
Unsurprisingly, The Last of Us was nominated for Best of Show. It will face fierce competition from Assassin’s Creed III, Dishonored, Tomb Raider and Halo 4. Naughty Dog’s survival horror was nominated for a total of four awards overall, including Best Original Game, Best Console Game and Best Action Adventure Game.
Meanwhile, other nominated Sony titles included Beyond, Wonderbook: Book of Spells, Sound Shapes, The Unfinished Swan, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and LittleBigPlanet Karting.
You can peruse the full list of nominees through here. The winners are set to be announced on 26th June. Let us know who you think should win in the comments.

Naughty Dog should just come out with the Game of the Year edition of The Last of Us from day one.
As good as it looks I'm a bit surprised Halo 4 was nominated for game of the show. The demo in comparison to The Last of Us was pretty short and the fact is, it's Halo, we've been there, done that. And this is coming from a huge Halo fan. Dishonored shouldn't be on that list either. AC III is a worthy third nominee but in truth that's all it is, the real competition there is Tomb Raider and The Last of Us.
Anyway, good for Sony, of the 3 console makers it was the only one that actually brought anything worth a damn to this E3 and clearly is the only company that seems to give at least half a about 'core' gamers.
