Chop chop

As promised, SuperBot Entertainment has revealed the latest couple of combatants to join its mascot mash-up PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Speaking at the EVO Championships overnight, the developer confirmed that platform stalwarts Heihachi Mishima and Toro Inoue will be joining the heavyweight fight.

Considering the Tekken franchise has been associated with PlayStation since its inception, we reckon Heihachi’s inclusion is a perfectly apt one. Just like in his native game, the moustachioed mastermind will excel at close-range combat, taking advantage of familiar moves such as the Electric Wind God Fist and Twin Pistons.

Meanwhile, Toro will adopt a unique stance-based fighting style, allowing him to switch between different attack sets on the fly. The character will be able to seamlessly transition between close-range, long-range and wide-area combat by simply adapting his form.

In addition to the new character reveals, SuperBot Entertainment also took the time to raise the curtain on a brand new stage. The Dojo will be instantly recognisable to fans of the original Parappa the Rapper, though all is not quite as it initially seems. Look closely and you’ll spot a lumbering MAWLR from the Killzone franchise lurking on the horizon.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is set to enter the ring on 23rd October in North America and 26th October in Europe. Check out the brand new batch of trailers below, and let us know what you think of the new additions in the comments.
