Columbia Pictures has snapped up the rights to produce a movie based on Kojima Productions’ wildly popular Metal Gear Solid franchise. Announced at an anniversary event overnight – which also played host to the reveal of a new game – the flick will be produced by Avi Arad of Spider-Man fame.
It’s unclear how much involvement series creator Hideo Kojima will have with the movie, but we suspect his assistance will be required to clear up the franchise’s more complicated plot points. Additional details are scarce at the moment, but we're sure more will be revealed in the coming weeks.
