Privileged EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has set his eyes upon the PlayStation 4. The outspoken executive announced the news during an otherwise laborious GamesCom keynote about free-to-play business models and, ahem, Command & Conquer. No doubt he needed a means to attract the attending audience’s wandering attention.
Unfortunately, the gaffer failed to expand upon the tease, opting to discuss the growth of the industry rather than share secrets about Sony’s future platform. At least we know that the system definitely exists though, huh?

need a ps3 super slim first !
We can be sure he's not the only one. If it's to release within the next 18-24 months, most devs probably already have.
@Paranoimia Pretty much. First executive to explicitly mention it, though.
Hum, the plot thickens. I think we're looking at an inevitable end of 2013 launch here. Considering that the first year of a console's life cycle usually isn't very compelling, I think it's safe to assume that I still have two and a half years to fully enjoy my PS3 without feeling the urge to buy a new Sony console.
I do expect a "message" from Sony just before the release of the WiiU, something similar it is said to be prepared by MS.
well of course Playstation 4 is being worked on right now Most companies start work on the next system basicly right after the launch of the current system!
I think Playstation 4 will be released in 2015, but revealed in 2014 probably at E3, though Gamescom has also become a Sony favourite. Personally, I love my PS3 and see no need for an upgrade yet. Take it cool, enjoy the PS3 while it's still around
Smug bastard...
