PlayStation Plus is coming to the PlayStation Vita, Sony announced during its GamesCom 2012 press conference earlier today.
While Sony was coy about the specifics of the service's implementation, Vita owners can look forward to the prospect of discounts and freebies in the not-so-distant future.
It was also announced that Rockstar San Diego's Red Dead Redemption will be receiving the PlayStation Plus treatment, becoming a free download for European subscribers in September.

I kind of figured that Sony would eventually implement PS Plus features for Vita owners as well. PlayStation Plus is a great service and I am extremely happy with the benefits that I am getting on my PS3. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us Vita owners as well.
I already have Red Dead Redemption on my Xbox 360 but it would be really cool if they offered it as a free game download for PS Plus subscribers here in the US.
Vita is starting to get the much-needed incentives it deserves. Oh, and if we ever saw a Red Dead Redemption port for Vita, then awesome
I kinda hope the US gets something besides RDR. I think it's a GREAT game but I would like something I don't all ready have.
This month was my first update as a PS+ member so getting The Walking Dead episode 1 and 2 and Outland which I all ready own was a let down.
It's about flippin' time!
Cloud saves...seriously. Make it happen, Sony.
