The employee in charge of production on both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus has left Sony Computer Entertainment. Kenji Kaido shared the news on Twitter, declaring: "This August, I left Sony Computer Entertainment.” He added that he has no immediate plans, aside from a long summer vacation.
It’s unclear whether Kaido has been working on The Last Guardian, but given his previous roles it would certainly make sense.
Famed developer Team ICO has lost a number of influential members over the past couple of years, including director Fumito Ueda who is now working at the company as a freelancer.

Actually, instead of bad news this may actually mean that Last Guardian is getting very close to finish and doesn't need certain team members anymore. Plus I think we all know that Team Ico isn't going to last past this game. sad but true. Happy note, the game is almost ready!!
thats very sad if its true team ico is a great studio
It was, and will always be remembered as having been so. I can see Sony releasing Guardian, but I can't see Sony continuing Team Ico after it's release.
Well, I hope you are right ThreadShadow. If Last Guardian a) doesn't come out (not that likely), or b) comes out on PS4 (more likely), I will not be a happy camper. Here's hoping...
@bauckster Why don't you want it to come out on PS4? It would be a show-stopped on there, where it may get overlooked at the end of the PS3's lifespan.
@get2sammyb Shadow of the Colossus was released pretty much at the end of PS2's life and it was far from overlooked. Potentially being released with PS4 it could be "lost" in the excitement and all the "next-gen" games. Not to mention people "too cool" might snub their noses at a "port" of a last-gen game.
@get2sammyb I agree with what ThreadShadow said, but also, I'm simply not ready to invest in a new system. I've always been a Nintendo guy, bit the bullet a few months ago and invested in a PS3, and have been really happy. However, I have SO MANY games to play on the PS3 (not to mention Steam or Wii), I can't see myself buying a PS4 anytime soon, especially if there is no backwards compatibility with PS3 gamees... Last Guardian was originally promised for PS3, so I really hope it stays there. Otherwise it feels a bit like false advertising.
