Sony’s ill-fated Uncharted movie project has hit another stumbling block, according to a report on Variety. The website claims that recently appointed director Neil Burger (Limitless) has quit the adaptation, leaving the film without anyone at the helm.
Burger follows in the footsteps of previous director David O. Russell (The Fighter), who disassociated himself with the project last year when his ideas didn’t gel with the franchise’s fanbase.
Despite the project’s uncertain fate, Sony has managed to sign-up prolific writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberly (National Treasure) to re-write the flick’s script.
Regardless, we're pretty sure that this movie's never going to get made.

Better it never get made than it be the garbage they HAD been making. But who knows? Maybe they'll finally get it done...and it'll be AWESOME! They seriously need to just let Nolan North have the lead, though. Anybody else would be just wrong. WRONG, I say!
Have people tossed Nathan Fillion out there as someone they'd like to see play Nathan Drake as well?
Someone please put this 'film' out of its misery. Do not need, do not want.
I think Nolan north and nathan fillion should be the only two options.
@Magi - Ya, his name has been thrown around alot and he would be perfect.
What I want out of an Uncharted movie would be for Naughty Dog to motion capture performances and film the movie in the same vein as the Uncharted cut scenes. Take what they have been doing with the games and effectively remove the game portion. This would allow all the original actors as well as keep whoever has written the scripts for all the uncharted games thus far.
Though that's all just a pipe dream.
@hamispink agreed, only hire motion cap people and voice actors you do for the games, and just make a awesome movie. Hollywood doesn't need it's grubby lil hands all over it, cause they will destroy what is an AWESOME series with there own "great" ideas -_-
