European gamers will have to wait at least a month until they can get their hands on Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Sony has attached a 5th February release date to the light-fingered platformer in North America – and opted for an ambiguous March window in Europe. Honestly, we thought the days of waiting for flag-ship first-party titles were long gone.
The game will launch on PlayStation 3, Vita and PSN. As previously revealed, if you purchase the PS3 version (either from retailers or digitally) you’ll get the Vita release at no extra cost. Of course, you won’t get the PS3 title with the Vita version, because that sells for a cheaper price-point.
Sony’s also announced that those who pre-order the adventure at participating retailers will unlock three additional skins. One includes a parachute sporting developer Sanzaru’s logo.
As big Sly Cooper fans we’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of this title. The European release date is a bit of a downer, though.

Played the demo that came with the Ratchet & Clank Collection...classic Sly fun (but too darned short). Sanzaru's work on the Sly Collection DEFINITELY put them in a position to know how to develop a sequel far better than most not-the-original-studio's could manage. Looking forward to the full game!
I'm annoyed that Sony decided to include the digital version for free, instead of the retail version. It doesn't really save you money since the memory cards are so small, but so expensive.
It's hardly surprising, though...the cost to give you the free copy is SUBSTANTIALLY lower for a download. I wouldn't complain...it's not like they HAVE to give you ANYTHING, after all.
@Firejonie Yeah, I really wouldn't complain about that. Obviously, I can see your point — but as Stuffgamer points out, they didn't have to give you anything. If they'd given out cartridges, then I imagine people would have just sold them on eBay.
Oh, this is going to be brilliant! After seeing what Sanzaru did with the Sly Collection, I've got full faith in the developer to deliver big-time here. Can't wait to get this between my geeky little fingers!
