In what’s quickly becoming a video game convention tradition, Sony has confirmed that The Last Guardian is still in development. This time it wasn’t Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida forced to revisit the topic, but a Japan Studio employee cornered by Kotaku at the Tokyo Game Show.
"I give you my word that it exists," the unnamed developer insisted. "We are working on it."
The hotly anticipated title is still being developed in Japan, according to the employee. In addition, creative director Fumito Ueda continues to work closely on the project, despite his role within Sony changing over the past 12 months. However, the developer notes that it’s a “very ambitious project”, and the game was announced too early.
The worker hypothesised that the reason The Last Guardian isn’t being shown at this year’s Tokyo Game Show is because Sony is starting to be more reluctant about what it reveals – opting not to talk about titles until they are closer to release.
"There are lots of pieces to the puzzle," the developer concluded. "It's a matter of getting them to fit together."
Wise words, indeed.

Yay! PS3 release around the corner! I suppose work is being bogged down because Sony wants to add Move compatibility, and now probably compatibility to use the Vita as a controller. This would have been a brilliant Christmas 2012 release....oh well.still waiting.
Yeah yeah, FFvsXIII and TLG are both "still in development". We'll hear the same thing at E3 2013.
no du'h sony needs to stop announcing games way before we can play them, just gets gamers antsy and annoying lol
I don't have a problem with them announcing games way before we can play them, as long as they state as much. I'm pretty sure at some point this actually had a release time frame. Now I would just like to know what system it's due to come out on.
