If Ubisoft didn't spend a penny on advertisements for Assassin’s Creed III, it would still be one of the biggest games of the year. But the publisher has ambitions far beyond that – and so it’s set aside a whopping £4 million (approximately $6.5 million) to market the sequel in the UK alone.
Chatting with MCV, senior brand manager Matt Benson explained: “Assassin’s Creed III is the culmination of three years’ hard work from a team which is at the top of its game. Our spend is in excess of £4 million across marketing and trade activity, which is the largest amount we have ever committed for an Assassin’s Creed campaign.”
We imagine Sony will be contributing towards that figure, considering the Assassin’s Creed franchise has typically been marketed as a PlayStation brand. Will it be enough to outmuscle Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 this Christmas? We reckon it’s going to be very close.

And Ac: liberation?
I wonder how much of that money is due to it being a WiiU launch title? Ubisoft has 6 or 7 games coming out during the WiiU launch window but this and ZombieU are most likley to be system sellers. And people won't buy Rayman Legends or Just Dance 4 if they don't buy a WiiU first.
@Sanquine I would guess that Sony's going to plough money into that. I imagine all of the big Vita commercials this Christmas (if there are any) will focus on LBP, Call of Duty, AC3 and FIFA/Madden.
@rjejr He's specifically talking about AC3 here. Ubisoft will have different arrangements with Nintendo for the Wii U launch titles.
ill get this games. but like every other creeds. much later. they tend to go fast on the used shelves, and in good numbers. so prices go down and im happy with this.
