Following on from last week’s Assassin’s Creed III recap trailer, publisher Ubisoft has revealed that the hotly anticipated sequel will “wrap up” modern day protagonist Desmond Miles’ tale.
Chatting with – whisper it – Official Xbox Magazine, lead designer Steve Masters revealed: “What we’re trying to do is bring some finality to Desmond’s story. To actually wrap up what you’ve opened and experienced with him. So we’re trying to make it a little bit more direct with the storyline. But at the same time there are still going to be plenty of little mysterious bits for you to dig into, especially in the side stuff.”
Masters acknowledged that the developer spent a little too long stalling the story during Ezio’s trilogy. “We wanted there to be a big leap forward in the story, and we wanted you to feel a good sense of progress in what’s going on in the story,” he explained. “A lot of the misdirection and the way we’ve been meandering a little bit has been kind of frustrating as a player and for the audience, so we wanted to make sure there was going to be more substance to get your teeth into.”
The game’s due out next week on PlayStation 3. No, really, next week.

NEXT WEEK!....................bugger im getting it on wiiu
Am I the only one who thinks 'thank God for that'?
About time, Desmond's not a bad character, I just feel like they've been dragging his story on a bit too much.
Can't wait to play. I'll probably get it on the Wii U.
