Currently unemployed video game luminary Cliff Bleszinski has offered to help resurrect Capcom’s ailing Resident Evil series. The former Epic Games employee Tweeted over the weekend, “Hey, Capcom. Call me. We can fix Resident Evil. Together.”
The distinguished designer played a pivotal part in transforming Microsoft’s Gears of War franchise into a blockbuster brand. As such, we daresay Capcom would be delighted to add the developer to its payroll.
But it’s unclear whether the designer was serious about contributing to the survival horror brand, or merely lamenting the shoddiness of the series’ latest sequel. Indeed, Bleszinski has been teasing his Twitter followers with photographs outside Activision and Naughty Dog for weeks.
Secretly, we think he’s just enjoying the attention.

as much as I love resident evil 4,5,6 I have to admit those aren't "good ol' resident evil" anymore. Action is taking over survival horor. If Cliff could change things back to normal, then let him do so. Resi fans like myself are starving for survival horor to come back to the series. Just like revelations..
revelations was amazing
I imagine — given Cliff's pedigree — he'd take it in an even more action oriented direction. At least he'd get the core shooting right, though.
@get2sammyb true as it is i hate re6
I like RE 6 though it does have its issues. Thing is, Capcom doesn't have to branch out of its own company to find people who can 'fix' RE for no. 7, just hand it off to the guys and gals who made Revelations and let them do what they do.
why not partner with sony and make a new survival horror series? resident evil is really going downhill anyway...the way capcom handle stuff is way stupid...i played RE6 and it bored me to death...after so much sucess with the psp over mh and they are not releasing it on the vita...omg what the hell are those guys thinking man...
When I was reading this.

The first thing the came to mind was this.
From reading reviews, I would probably agree that Resident Evil needs some help, since, wasn't it supposed to be a Survival Horror game? By looking at them, 5 and 6 don't really seem to fit that term.
The developers were saying from the beginning 6 wouldn't be survival horror. They were calling it 'dramatic horror.' They've gone for the big explosions and the like to try and capture the Call of Duty and Gears crowds. I'm not a fan of the new direction but I'd be lying if I said I don't like RE 5 and 6. I do still wish Capcom would go back to the old style, not so much in controls but other aspects such as the puzzles and slower pace, but don't see it happening on home consoles, best we can hope for is something like Revelations on Vita. Revelations isn't exactly traditional survival/horror but it's pretty damn close,
