Those of you in North America will be forced to stick with the classic blue version of the PlayStation Store for the time being. Following the disastrous roll-out of the new storefront overseas, Sony has decided to postpone the release of the revamp in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Eric Lempel explained that an “exceptional experience” must be guaranteed before a new launch date is decided. Judging by the response to the European release, we're guessing that might take a while yet.
The new PlayStation Store arrived in the UK on Wednesday before being pulled due to complaints about slow loading and general bugs. The refresh has since launched in some smaller European territories, while Sony works through the issues.

I didn't realize making a better-looking interface was so insanely difficult.
@Azikira Sony has trouble getting out of bed!
@Azikira: There's a LOT more going on with this revamp than just looks, y'know. They've got to get the aesthetics, search engine, and all the rest of the code running efficiently. I'm no programmer, but I find it difficult to believe that would be an easy task, especially when this is something that has to stream relatively large amounts of data to users' PS3's quickly.
Delay it forever, wouldn't bother me at all. I guess it needs to be changed at some point but I honestly don't mind the current PS Store setup. Even as it is right now it's still better than what Nintendo and MS have.
Would rather have it working, than running slow full of glitches. Still, Sony needs to get their act together. Don't announce something, if it clearly not ready to launch. With so many problems, I question if they really tested it enough.
Here's an idea for Sony - don't ANNOUNCE it and just do it. I mean, it isn't a game release, it doesn't NEED a date, just do it when nobody is watching that way you don't get hammered on the servers with people trying it out AND you won't be late. They've have enough problems with late announcements that you think they would have figured this out by now. Between 2 -3 in the morning on a Thursday would probably be a good time. Morons.
@BlueProxy @rjejr Okay then if you two think its so easy you guys should code a web store and make it be able to handle millions of user accessing it across the world at the same time.
@Sakura_Moonlight2421
I think you read my post either upside down or backwards - I never said it was easy, I said NOT to announce it beforehand so that you DON'T have to handle millions of users trying to access it at one time, hence the 2-3AM on a Thursday un-announced launch time I suggested. That time was picked b/c the US PSN updates on Tues and the EU on Wed and most people being asleep at that time.
meh, its fine the way it is.
