If you purchase Assassin’s Creed III on the PlayStation 3 next week, you’ll be invited to foil the plot of legendary traitor Benedict Arnold. The four-mission story-arc involving one of the most treacherous double agents in history will be exclusive to Sony’s platform – and will be included for free with vanilla versions of the game.
The tale begins with General Washington exposing a plot to overthrow West Point, a critical link in the defence of the Colonies against Great Britain. During the course of the four missions, protagonist Connor will flush out Loyalist spies, double-cross the traitor, and halt a full-blown assault on the crucial stronghold. Despite all that, writer Matt Webster is keen to make clear that Benedict Arnold is not necessarily one of the bad guys.
“We don’t like having ‘bad guys’ in Assassin’s Creed and this is no different in terms to Arnold and these missions. He has his reasons, and from a certain perspective they make complete sense,” he said on the PlayStation Blog.
It’s not yet clear how much content the four missions will provide, but we’re guessing it will add up to a sizeable chunk of game time. Couple that with the cross-unlock features of PlayStation Vita exclusive Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, and it seems like PlayStation is the definitive home for your pseudo-historical adventures this year.

I though Microsoft had pretty much killed any Playstation specific content for multi-platform releases a little while ago?
@KALofKRYPTON Assassin's Creed has always been a "PlayStation" franchise. Sony is heavily involved with the marketing of FIFA, too — though it doesn't have any exclusive content.
Looks like I picked the right year to make the jump from AC on Xbox to PS3.
